Vain grebes and cold footed lapwing
Little grebe watching reflection Current bird highlights at the Filter beds are the early courtship displays of the little grebes or 'dabchick'. This is one of several pairs, which have returned to Seething Wells, now that water levels have increased. The male was seen 'feeding' the female today and the two birds were preening together on the dip slope, when one of the birds started watching his reflection. Lapwing This winter there are just short of 30 lapwing in the flock (when all are present). This one has found a way of keeping it's feet warm!
